Her debut single, Here, in 2015, when she was just 19 years old. It was a huge smash and garnered praise from critics and listeners alike. It peaked at number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. She released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five tracks which reached the top of the charts on Billboard as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. Based on an interview she did with Rap Up, this track had lots in the minds of many people who listened to her story about learning to accept and love your self. Cara includes messages of kindness and loving yourself throughout her songs. The inspiration for her music is drawn from her own personal experience as she suffered from mental health problems as well as insomnia. In an interview with Reuters the singer declared her album to be "half turbulent" and "half flawless". The singer says that she found her growth through therapy. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was 10, and it ignited her love for music. When she was 13she began covering songs she loved on YouTube to demonstrate to people that she was a talented artist and brave enough to go after a career as an artist. One of her tracks, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and write her own songs.
