
Allison Brooks Janney was born on the 19th of November, 1959. 2] She is an American actress. In a career spanning three decades, she is known for her performances across various genres of screen as well as the stage. Janney received nominations for two Tony Awards and has been given one Academy Award as well as a British Academy Film Award. Janney was raised in Dayton and Boston with her parents, got a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to pursue her studies following graduating Kenyon College. After years of minor and not-credited appearances on television and film Her breakthrough came when she played the character of C. J. Cregg in the NBC dramatic drama The West Wing (1999-2006) in which she won the award of four Primetime Emmy Awards. Because of her character Margaret Scully, a Showtime actress on the period show Masters of Sex, Janney was awarded her 2014 Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Actress as a Guest in a Drama Series. Her most well-known role was her role as Bonnie Plunkett.
