Rauw Alejandro
Raul Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz (born January 10, 1993), known professionally as Rauw Alejandro, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. The name is often referred to as the "King of Modern Reggaeton",[2][3he is part of "the younger generation" of Puerto Rican urban musicians. His debut album, Afrodisiaco (studio album), was released in the month of November in 2020. Vice Versa was his follow-up studio album. The album's lead track, "Todo de Ti", was released in June 2021. From twelve nominations, he has received two Latin Grammy Awards. Raul Alejandro Olasio was born in San Juan (Puerto Rico) on the 10th January 1993. His family was raised in Carolina and Canovanas. [4][5] Alejandro's father and guitarist Raul OcasioRuiz, and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz (backing vocalist) introduced him to numerous of his musical heroes like Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley as well as Chris Brown. Six years ago, Alejandro was a part of his father's household for many years in the United States, mostly New York City and Miami, where the music he listened to was influenced by R&B and the dancehall genres. Alejandro and Anuel an ally, a other Puerto Rican rapper, were childhood friends. They both went to the same school and shared classes. As a youngster, Alejandro competed in school talent shows as he had an obsession with dancing. He was enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico after having graduated from high school. He played soccer between six and twenty. He eventually resigned because he was unable to perform as he was expected to. He later moved to Orlando in hopes of being selected by the Premier Development League (PDL). Rauw Alejandro's music style is Latin R&B and reggaeton. He also enjoys the rhythmic pop and ballads. Billboard commented that it has contributed to "set him apart from the growing group of pop-leaning reggaetoneros". Presley and Jackson were influential early on then later followed by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee and Chris Brown. He also mentions Ciara as a musical influence.
